Benny Becker

From 2016 to 2018 Benny Becker was the ReSource reporter in the heart of Appalachia’s coal country, where the shifting economy is challenging communities. Benny arrived in Whitesburg from Tel Aviv, where he was a producer and reporter for Israel Story. Benny grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia, and started his public radio work in Providence, Rhode Island, where he also earned a degree in linguistics at Brown University. Benny left the ReSource in July, 2018, for a Nieman-Abrams Journalism Fellowship at Harvard University.
